Yesterday we got our shipment of 250 perch fingerlings for our ‘aquaponics research facility’/our backyard aquaponics tanks. The perch were supplied by a hatching facility in Co. Roscommon – Quay Water Fisheries – and all for free as well (and very gratefully accepted they were). The whole thing was arranged by Bórd Iascaigh Mhara. So far, no floaters…
The perch were transported in water filled plastic bags topped up with a dose of pure oxygen. So now we can begin farming in earnest.
How’s it going? I just came across your site and this is very interesting. I’d love to try it out with some perch so please keep the posts coming. cheers
Hi Al – We’ll be posting an update shortly on the aquaponics..
